Beit Midrash Yisraeli

Beit Midrash Yisraeli is a project established by a group of young adults who wanted to study, debate, and listen from “the other”. Founded in Beit Shemesh, it has now grown to become a nationwide movement, each city branch meeting twice a month with hundreds of young adults ages 16-19 in attendance. These dedicated youth come together to discuss various current issues of Israeli society, accompanied by traditional text sources, engaging in key topics as Jews and Israelis. After each study session, the young attendees host an interactive lecture from a relevant top Israeli leader, each time representing a vibrant array of varying political and ideological viewpoints.

Beit Midrash Yisraeli is an opportunity for Israeli youth to have a simple and honest encounter with different opinions, and thus reach a genuine connection with the People of Israel, the Land of Israel, and the Torah of Israel. Current locations with a Beit Midrash Yisraeli in development include; Beit Shemesh, Rananna, Gush Etzion, Jerusalem, Hadera, Rechovot, Modiin, Shomron, Haifa, Tel Aviv, Petach Tikva, Beer Sheva, and Givat Shmuel. Former speakers include; US Ambassador Dan Shapiro, Yariv Oppenheim, Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, Yehuda Glick, Shelly Yachimovich, Racheli Frenkel, Bentzi Gopstein, Rav Benny Lau, Sivan Rahav Meir, Ruth Calderon, and Elazar Stern.
